UptimeTwin vs StatusCake

Both are credible, established uptime tools, and StatusCake gives you more monitors per dollar at every paid tier. This isn't a hit piece — it's where each tool actually wins, so you can pick the right one.

Where StatusCake is the better choice

More monitors per dollar, clearly. Their entry plan covers 100 monitors with 1-minute checks at $24.49/mo billed monthly; ours with 1-minute checks is Pro, 50 at $19. Their next tier up is 300 monitors against our 100. If your problem is “I have a lot of endpoints and I need them all pinged,” they're better value and it isn't close.

Branded reporting starts lower. Theirs is available from their entry paid tier; ours starts on the $49 Business plan. If branded reports are all you need — without per-client separation — that's a real saving.

Track record. They've operated far longer and at far greater scale than we have. For a safety net, that matters, and if you're already happy on StatusCake, inertia is a rational reason to stay.

Where UptimeTwin is different

An alert means it's real. Our monitoring runs on two independent cloud providers, and before anything pages you we require several failures in a row and, for HTTP, TCP, SSL and UDP checks, ask other regions whether they can still reach it. A tool that checks from one place and rechecks from that same place turns a bit of packet loss between one datacentre and your server into a 3am alert for a site that never went down. How the two-cloud design works.

Checkout, not just the homepage. A 200 on your front page tells you almost nothing about whether people can actually buy. Synthetic checks walk short multi-step public journeys — a search, a contact form, add-to-cart — up to five HTTP steps, each with its own assertions, no code required. They don't sign in or run JavaScript. Available on Pro, Business and MSP.

Built for MSPs, not just tolerant of them. Each client is an isolated organisation with its own monitors and its own white-label status page on your own domain — $99/mo covers 10 client orgs, then $10 each, prorated by Stripe. That's a different thing from branded reports on a single account.

A bigger free tier to try it on. 25 monitors against their 10, with commercial use explicitly allowed.

StatusCake figures taken from their published pricing page on July 28, 2026, quoted at the monthly-billed rate; their annual rate is lower. Plans change — check their current pricing before deciding. “Not published” means we could not find a public statement either way, not that the feature is absent.
